RCIA at St. Bede

 
The Roles of RCIA Sponsors and Godparents
Sponsors
  1. Act as a personal connection between the candidate and the community until the rite of election
  2. Provide support and encouragement
  3. Answer questions the candidate may have
  4. Are available
  5. Listen to and share personal faith stories
  6. Pray with and for the candidate
  7. Introduce the candidate to the other members of the community
  8. Participate in candidate session, prayer gatherings, ceremonies and instructions whenever possible
Godparents
  1. Are chosen by the catechumens
  2. Frequently have served as sponsors
  3. Accept a lifetime commitment to help the neophyte keep his/her baptismal commitment
  4. Must be fully initiated themselves, having received baptism, confirmation, and eucharist
  5. Must be approved by the pastor
  6. Must be reasonably informed on current church teaching

 

RCIA Inquiry:
Now meets at 2 separate times:

Tuesdays, 6:30PM
Upstairs in Parish Center, and

Saturdays, 10:00AM

Saturday group is made up of college students.

Family Faith First:
First Sunday each month at 4:15PM followed by 5:30PM Mass.
